Mercury Redstone Rocket Question

Been doing anew design of the Redstone Rocket and Mercury Freedom 7 Capsule.

All I've been able to find are photos showing the one side.

Are the words UNITED STATES on just one side are or they on the opposite side too?

Thanks for any help with this!

Trying to do my first as close to scale as I can get it.

1:12 with over 2,160 objects for the main capsule (lots of rivets and washers)

Mike

I was happy to come across that diagram; I was comparing a series of photos of the mockup mercury/redstones on display at the Cape, and it was very difficult to sort out the question of markings. I checked the diagram against the photos and they coincide as best as I could determine...the colors/markings on the fins helped to provide a basis to determine what side was being looked at in each photo.

I wonder if there are other similar diagrams for the other U.S. launchers....

Cheers!
Jim

Wow! Thanks Jim!

Certainly does help. Now I realize that my black markings on the fins are off alittle.

As far as the Saturn V, the best I've seen has been the estes paint diagram, however, you can google Apollo and the images files show all the mission variations. Not good enough for an exact scale look though - to great a distance, the estes is the best for scale look.

Did my alpha print/cutting before seeing this....

Rich thanks for looking, spent several days looking, but could only find the one side view. Found some great detail stuff for the capsule though.

Should be done building sometime tommorrow-photos soon.

Mike

There is a full-size MR-7 25 miles from my house. If you need pics of something, let me know and I'll try my best to get a pic of it.
