Ship air vent......help!!!!!

Can anyone help in explaining how to design a ships air vent in sketchup???

i made a horn and then a tube that was like a bamboo stabber /I on one side, as if you cut a straw with scissors.
then just pushed and rounded it out while the glue was almost dry from the inside with a rounded probe.
but that looks like you got it!
deck ape might know a few tricks on that.

At 1/250 scale it is best to keep it simple. The one you have looks good. Then it comes down to changing the size as needed. If you plane on doing multiple ships from the same era open a sketch up page and place copies of the vents, bollards, cleats, guns, steam whistles, bells, hatches and ships boats. This way you do not have to remake them for the next project. By using the scale tool you can change the sizes on some items to fit the new project.
