Question 1952 Daimler Ferret Mk-1 - scaling issues...

Hi all, I have created a Daimler Ferret and I am having some issues scaling it. I am using Blender to model the vehicle to 1:1 scale according to the repair and user manuals. And Pepakura to unfold and layout.

When I start building I print 3 scale sizes to make sure everything assembles correctly. But it is always a little over twice as big as the scale should be. The Ferret should be smaller than the 1:87 Nova Van, it was exported as 1:87 scale.

Here are some Photos showing how off the scale is

Should I be exporting my model to obj as 1:1 full scale, then use Pepakura to scale it? Appreciate any help.

Here is what it should actually look like when completed.

No clue. But for yourself, when I find a pdo that is the wrong scale, I print to pdf and then use the pdf as the basis to scale correctly for my needs. I use Gimp, but there are lots of ways to do the scaling, once you get to the pdf

No clue niver but if it helps -
Before unfolding an item in Pepa I include a rectangular box of appropriate size - say perhaps 80X10X10 - which I know
will unfold to give a shape that should have a known overall length - in this example of 100mm.
The whole output can then be adjusted to make that dimension correct.

Measure center of wheel to center of wheel (wheelbase) on the actual vehicle it is 2.29m (2290mm). If you measure the model, you will get a distance in mm.

Model Distance/Actual distance

for 1/72 -> x scale mm = 2290/72 = 31.8mm
for 1/32 -> x scale mm = 2290/32 = 71.6mm

So if you make a square on the model and put two corners at the wheel centers and get the actual scaled size from that.
