Looking for photos of Tarheel Hal P47D

Many of the Sites I go to for help are either shut down, or I can't get into (forgotten IDs/Passwords) or Membership closed.

So I'll ask here, since we have a good cross section of modelers who subscribe to all kinds of websites, etc

I am looking for some photos of the real/original WW2 era Tarheel Hal.

Not the plane in Texas...please don't start posting pics of that one.

And not the photo attached below...its duplicated all over the web!
And I have b/w and colour versions of that one.

There are at least three other B/W photos of the original P47D 44-33240 that exist.
But they were posted on a forum years ago, and the photobucket links to them, are dead.
So I haven't seen them (I just know something exists).
(I've been through all the books I have, and cant find anything)

You see, the Texas Tarheel Hal, is not accurate to the original WW2 aircraft.
Its more "inspired by".
I'm talking mainly about the paint scheme.

And I am trying to recreate the original (for my next upgraded P47 model).
And, as I said, there are a number of differences I would like to address.

There is a Decal kit for plastic models that is more accurate to the original plane, but still not quite right.
(I already have an image of that)

Any help out there?

lol just found another website with closed membership.
And it looked like I might find some answers there.

It seems many sites have reached their max. capacity? and closed registration.
And some have become "invitation only"...I guess to keep out the spammers and such.

Its getting harder to find sites with research info! lol

The 366th fighter squadron has its own facebookpage, and they've posted these pictures in 2020.
Maybe you could contact them via Facebook and ask them for more information?

They have posted ww2 photo's on their page, attached two of Tarheel Hal and one of Teachin Pet

Still looking....

I have heard of a photo of the right side of the plane (Tarheel Hal) but have yet to see it.
I'd also like to see the aft fuselage.
Oh...and any other area of the plane...!...lol

366th facebook page was a bust to be honest.
Only the two photos FouteMan posted (which are still a great help!)
They are reprinted from an old issue of 'The Jug Letter'...which I believe is an old 366th Reunion publication from 1991.

The fb page is hosted by the son of a 366th veteran pilot, (not Ira K Davis, Tarheel Hal's pilot).
He claims his father flew, on at least one occasion, Tarheel Hal.

But I guess he doesn't have any of his own photos.
When I asked for more photos of Tarheel, he just posted a bunch of photos retrieved from airliners.net (showing the modern Tarheel).
So that doesn't help me.

I've also been through the 366th website, but there doesn't seem to be anything new there.

Still looking...
