Any Ideas?

Hello friends,

I've gone trough a quick period of no paper models to reset and it's time I start back up again! I've found a creator by the name of Little Model Airport who specializes in detailed yet simple 1/400 and 1/500 models. Me being the tiny scale guy went with 1/500. I started doing retraces of the models to make consistent detail and color values.

My first major repaint is N36272, the United Star Wars livery. I got the basics done, but I'm struggling with how to do this in 1/500 scale in Inkscape. I'd gladly accept any advice or tips on how to do this recolor.

So I just realized I forgot to mention the exact part of the recolor I was struggling with, the stars wrapped around the aircraft. My first attempt was making each star an object in Inkscape, but that was to tedious. I have also tried making textures in MS paint with no success.

Is the issue getting the stars in position, or do they have to be distorted to account for curves in the part shape, or go over gaps?

Thanks!

Siwi,

My problem is getting the stars on the air frame. I'm not going for a 1/1 replica of the aircraft so if there aren't enough stars or they aren't in the exact locations, I'm not worried. I just want to get the general design style with the spots of stars in approximate locations.

And for those wondering, with LMA's permission I will post the recolor here!
