Tybee Island Lighthouse

My boss just got back from vacation and was telling me all the stories of were he went. Him, his daughter and his son went to Savannah, Ga.. During there vacation they traveled to all the sites. His favorite was Tybee Island and visiting the Lighthouse were they got to climb the 154 foot structure.

I decided to build him the light house but none were out there so I designed this one for him by looking at pictures from the net. The lighthouse stands 13 inches tall to the top if the antenna. The grass (try not to laugh to hard) is parsley and the walkways are chili powder. Okay, you can stop laughing now. I didn't feel like driving 80 miles to the hobby store so I had to use what I had.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Looks like a handsome model, Inky. tybee is special to us here in Georgia. When we want to say something has been covered from A to Z, we say it goes from Brasstown Bald (the highest point in Georgia) to Tybee Light. Once upon a time there was a little newsletter on Cardmodels, back in the 1990's, called CardFormation, It came out 3-4 times a year, and always with a free model that the editor designed. One time it was Tybee Island Lighthouse. Yours is bigger , better, and no doubt tastier. Congrats.

Great looking model. Did you design it with software, or the old fashioned way with a ruler and pencil? Either way, it came out great. I predict a nice fat raise in your future.

I looked at pics from online and drew it up on MS Paint. As for a raise...HAHAHA fat chance, been there three years and only got one raise at the six month mark.

Great model, Inky. We need to upgrade your software a bit, though. I haven't even opened Paint in years. I'd suggest at least checking out Paint.NET or Inkscape.

@ paper hollywood, I would so love to upgrade but hate having to learn new programs, I get so use to one that the others frustrate me when I can't do what I want it to do. I will look into the two you mentioned, thanks.

@ Fred, you are too funny
