Airport

This isn't my first attempt at a diorama. My earlier attempts were "Podskali" and "Skalka" both 1:300 Minibox scenes. One was a modern town with a railway and the other was a river setting with boats , a castel and even a camp site. I've also made one of he ABC medieval towns.

What started off the current project was as a rest from Cologn Cathedral and the suggestion my Johhny about him not making an airport.

I had most of the "ingredients" from the ABC magazines that I used to get twice a month from Prague. I have bought a few extra bits from Papermodel.cz and will use some of the left over parts from the other Minibox towns.

At the moment I'me making a few bits inbetween Cologne so it will be a while before it becomes my main project.

So, here are a few pictures to kick off the thread. Eventually, the elements will be cleaned up and put in one bigger diorama.

Mike

The "Podskali" and "Skalka" are both models I have always wanted - I enjoy the Minibox style models.

Anyone have an idea where I can get these?

Kevin,

The two diorama came as loads of small cards in one big bag but I can't remember where I bought them I think it was from a seller in the UK.

Papermodel.cz appear to have most - maybe all of the cards you would need. You may like to contact Miroslav who may be able to help.

I can send you a couple of pictures of both diorama and you can spend a quite evening or two identifying the cards you need.

Let me know if you need any help

Cheers

Mike

Kevin,

There's another site that has minibox. I see they have the base plans for at least one of the towns. I see no reason why you can't buy the bases and the buildings then add whatever you like such as trains carriages or trams and many types of car and truck.

I needed a break from the Cathedral so I made a few more bits for the airport.

The vehicles were photographed before they had visited the paint shop.
They will be painted shortly. I've counted about 20 more vehicles I've collected via the ABC magazine, the two other diorama leftovers and a few more from the Migas website.

I'll leave you to guess the purpose of the building :-)))

Cheers

Mike

Lookin' good Mike ... where's the helicopter?

There's some nice little trucks for the commercial area here ...

http://www.conysmodellbau.de/Downloads/Download13.pdf

It's a single page PDF, so easy to re-scale. They make up well in 1:200.

Lots of other stuff via the home page too.

Johnny.

Those miniature vehicles look great, Mike. You're certainly doing a good job on this diorama!

Best Regards,

After adding over 70 flying buttresses and 30 buttresses, I needed a rest so I've made a few more bits to the airport.

Here you will find the terminal bauilding and a control tower. I've also made use of the carparks.

Most if the vehicles are from Minibox and a few are reduced models from Cony's Kartonmodellbau (Thanks Johnny) I did a rough calculation and went for a 66% of the A4 sheet - when printing.

I've also spent the last few days testing a new model...... you'll have to wait a while for a new thread ;-))

Cheers

Mike
