Thank you all for your kind response and feedback. Now when the next episode on The Munsters - yes we have re-runs!

Tappi my friend...I hate to do this to you...but you assembled the entrance/front porch incorrectly.
Only reason I am posting it on the forums, is because someone else might use your fine
build example as reference and make the same mistake.

I think the instruction diagrams are pretty clear.
You were probably thinking too hard about the Munsters TV show!

Heres a couple of photos that show the correct assembly of the steps
and covered front porch.

Red face Oops...

Yes I evidently did. I don't know how I got so distracted with the assembly, the instructions are quite clear now that I look at them again [blushing].

Well, Tapcho, I love your clever diorama setup. Dave did a marvelous job of interpreting the house, but from studying some pics of the house as it was on the show and after, his version isn't precisely as was, either. And it's gone through a number of variations over the years. I even found a pic of a complete indoor duplicate of the facade, apparently for use on some other project with a lot of porch differences.

First photo is from the movie Munster Go Home...house set was actually rebuilt for the colour filming.
Second photo is from the set of Wisteria Lane ...on Desperate Housewives (TV), shot around 2010.
Third image is the Colonial Street soundstage set, featuring the original Maxim house, for the 1946 movie So Goes My Love.

So you picked a pretty wide range of views.
All different from the TV house.

Yes, I did that deliberately to show how it's changed over the years. Clear shots of the facade from the original series are a bit harder to come by because of the shrubbery and that tree in front. I suppose if you go through the DVDs you can find better. Here's a couple from the original series, though, I believe:

You can see where the porch roof meets the left gable roof is a fair bit different. BTW, here's one from Leave It To Beaver, a nicely clear shot of it a few years before it became the Munster's House: http://www.retroweb.com/universal/litb_maxim_house.jpg

Here's an architectural plan of it, apparently for the original construction in 1950:

Thanks Paper Hollywood, I'm glad you like the models and what I've tried to do with them. Porch here or porch there doesn't really matter in my build and I guess that's your point too. That's how I feel anyway and like we all know the original was so disguised by the shrubbery that it's hard to tell. It's the general feeling that counts and that is what I tried to do. Dave just pointed out that don't use my interpretation as a reference when building the kit which is fine and quite in order too.
