I have both walls up and I have a good start on the tomb itself. I can only add the photo of the completed walls. I finally figured out my photo reject problem. My phone has a fairly high resolution on photos and I have a limit of 5mb per photo. I have to keep the photos fairly simple to stay below that limit. I can take a photo of a complex completed model and stay below the limit. If I try to show all the parts, side by side, before gluing them together, the photo exceeds the limit. I guess the camera is basically taking a picture of each item separately and then combining them into one package. The bytes of each free standing item added together then exceeds the limit. If I were to stack all the items into the confines of the model outline, the photo would not exceed the limit. Why that works that way is above my knowledge level of electronic cameras.

What I do is take a photo from a distance and then crop the photo to get the Mb's down

Better late than never: here is a short update. And thanks for the compliments guys.
I have the tomb finished and am building a giant squid that will be attacking the tombs contents. Then I have to finish a 1:100 jeep with 4 Marines in it (I'll tell you the story behind that in my next post). I also have two buildings (no connection to this one) that I am working on assembling. Oh, I also figured out that the green mat was adding big numbers to my photos, thus the quarter, instead of the green pad measured edges. Here are a few photos. |

The tomb looks good. The squid is definitely interesting! Cannot wait to see it all come together. George

Back on the air! Had a few birthdays to take care of (Granddaughters and my Better Half). Well the Tomb being attacked by the Giant Squid is complete (see photos) The squid's feeding tubes were made from rigging cord soaked in Thin ZAP CA glue. I laid the cord out on wax paper in the pattern that I wanted and generously applied the thin CA directly on the cord. I left it to cure overnight and then drilled two small holes in the squid cape on either side of the mouth and glued the two feeding tubes in the holes. The other end of the tubes are glued to the inside walls of the broken tomb. The body of the squid was then glued to the ruined wall of the tomb to simulate a swimming squid.
I said that I would explain the Marines in my last post. Here is the background story. When my Granddaughter showed me a picture of the whole sorority, I jokingly said, "OK, with all that beauty concentrated in one area, I am going to ask my Marine pals to send a squad down there to make sure no Frat boys come within a block of that house." Her comment was, "I can't tell my Sorority Sisters that; they will be pestering me for the arrival schedule." Trading witty comments with the females in my extended family is a battle lost before the opening round. Anyway, I could not resist putting a jeep full of Marines in parade dress in the trees next to the road leading to the cottage. |
