Pompeii Thermopolium - Paperdiorama.com - 1:24

Hello friends of antiquity

Paperdiorama has a thermopolium available for free download. Thermopolium - Paper Model 1/24 Scale - Paperdiorama - Donwload Free Paper Model

This ancient fast food restaurant was excavated in Pompeii in 2020, a sensational find!!

The model in 1:24 is also very nicely designed. My dearest girl drew the figures for me freehand, thank you for that!!

Now we wish you a lot of fun on a culinary journey into the past.

Sincerely

Kurt and Helga

Very nice work, sir

Other than the figures, how much extra love and details did you add?

That is lovely. I hadn't connected ancient Rome with fast-food outlets before.

I think this is the same one from a Secrets of the Dead episode that we get on Public Television. Part of the episode dealt with the unearthing of that fast-food joint. At least the dog looks the same. I wonder if you could pull up that episode on the net somehow

These were pretty common in Roman cities since most working class Romans were not able to cook at home either due to practicality or laws against starting fires in insulae. There are several of these 'bars' uncovered in Pompeii, Herculaneum and elsewhere and we even have evidence of preserved food in a few places.

I'll have the McDormouse wrap with extra garum...
