I was able to make progress yesterday.

The engine intakes:

The exhaust:

The main fuselage components:

Front portion + intakes:

Middle portion + wheel wells:

And finally --- the completed fuselage (sans the canopy...):

Before calling it a night, I tried to dry-fit the wings:

That's all for now, I guess. I hope I can squeeze in a bit of build time this Sunday....

Thanks, Desney!

A little update...

I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ATTACH THE FRONT WHEEL WELL! :o

Oh well.....

The only thing I could do was to assemble the front wheel well sans the glue strips. I just did a butt-join of the edges. Without the glue strips, it should be easier to plug in the wheel well into the fuselage cavity.

....or maybe not. :(
Note to myself --- make sure to slide in the front wheel well while assembling the fuselage!

I end my weekend build by attaching the canopy to the fuselage.

'Till next weekend! :D

Smile

And...for the final touches, I finally finished assembling the landing gears:

I didn't take pictures of the landing gear assembly process. It's pretty much straightforward.

After a couple of minutes for the glue to set, I proudly present my first prototype of the BV P.212.02:

Okay! I cheated! That shiny thing barely visible in the intake is a small screw. Once again, I forgot to consider that this IS a tricycle geared plane and would likely need some weight up front. I'll keep that in mind when I make my final build after skinning.

Time to fire up Inkscape and start working on the Karaya-1 skin.

(More pix here.)

@Desney
Thanks!
I'll complete the Karaya-1 scheme first, then I'll consider making an additional skin. I already have some pictures of PAF Sabres. I can probably copy those. But would you have SVG images of our roundels?

@plane_mc
I'm planning to use the black-tulip scheme from Erich Hartmann's plane. I saw a picture of a Bundesluftwaffe F86 bearing the same camo scheme. It looked really nice.
