Help! Need Convention-Model Competiton Dates

Hi Everyone,

I volunteered to help with the first Papermodellers calendar.

What is lacking are the dates for particular meets, conventions, competitions from Jan 2011 thru Feb. 2012.

If you know of a meet that allows paper models to be shown, entered into competition, please post the dates in this thread!

I copied the info for the IPMS meets in the UK from the info supplied in the UK meet thread.

Any paper club meeting dates can be added as well! (i.e., you a member of a paper modeling club, meet ever 2nd tuesday of the month, I need this type of info...)

This info needs to get posted as soon as possible-time crunch to get the calendar done!

Thank you in advance for any help/dates you can supply!

Best regards,
Mike Bauer

Hi Mike,

I don't know if you have the dates for the IPMS Scottish Nationals in Perth, but they are as follows; Saturday, 23rd and Sunday, 24th April 2011. There is not a card modelling section as such, but there are a few who will be displaying. I am hoping to put on a card-modelling demonstration for all interested delegates. More info on the show here,

Scottish National Scale Model Show

I myself am a member of Edinburgh IPMS and we meet on the first Tuesday and third Thursday in the Royal British Legion Club, Rodney St. Edinburgh. I am also a member of Dunfermline and District Scale Modellers, we meet on the first Wednesday of the month in the Bowling Club, Inverkeithing road, Crossgates, Fife.

I have been a member of these clubs for years, but since taking up paper modelling two years ago, I have managed to gain some expressions of interest from the other members, but I think that they are just being polite. One of my buddies even suggested that I had gone to "the dark side". Still, we can but persevere.

All the best and happy (paper) modelling,
Bernie

Thank You Bernie,

This is exactly the kind of things I need.

Calling all designers/builders etc..

These dates being added are for anyone who has a place to display paper models. Ships, car, armor, etc.. type club meets where we can display papermodels needs to be listed.

Please send any club meets etc., outside the IPMS displays!

This calendar has the possibility of advancing our hobby into other areas!

The phots Dave is adding will catch attention, possibly some calendars can be printed and given out at some of these meets to show what papermodels are about!

All the best in 2011,
Mike Bauer
