Fiddlersgreen is not an ordinary online shop. Chip Fynn imprinted a very personnal touch to the contacts.
Can't say I started modeling with his models, but surely I can say that his models I built are in the group of those that gave me more pleasure and fun to build. The graphism describes well the prototype, but allways carries a slight touch of humour or pleasure for life.
My condolences to the family

While FG models weren't my very first paper models, they were among the first. Here's a picture I took back in August, 1999, most of them are FG's. This was back in the days when you had to buy them online from Paper Paradise, at $1.00 each, and a minimum $5.00 order. Needless to say, my collection grew rather quickly, especially as I was building them about one-a-day, at my desk during lunch at work. The cutie in the corner of the pic is my then 6-year-old daughter, Corinne.

Thanks for the memories, Chip.

Like many, it was Chip who really got me going on this lark, I still have the card he wrapped the CD's I bought from him to stop me paying tax..
Oh, no, he said it was to rid the USA of all the hideous cards and send them to the UK!
R.I.P. Chip.

My prayers are with Chips family in there time of loss. Like so many others I cut my paper modeling teeth with Chips post card models I had bought from PMI. Chip had the rare ability to make people he had never met feel like part of the family.

I believe that the LANC works out to just over 1/48 scale. FG still needs to fine tune the color match on both left and right wings as the greens and earth colors as well as the black underside don't match up. I gave the completed LANC a light coat of Elmers mixed with water then several coats of clear urethane spray.

I had been waiting for this release from FG - took me six weeks a couple of hours a day ---

Though I never knew him, Chip (and all the other guys at village green) were the ones that introduced so many of us paper cutting, bending and gluing. We will be forever grateful.

Chip Fyn lives on here!!!

I have a full room full of FG & Chip's labors.
I worked with him for a couple years doin Beta Builds and doing some videos, tutorals and the such. Only met him once, at the IPMC in Sterling Va. in 2010. Glad I got to meet him before his passing the following year. We were workin on a presentation of the Rigby models for the Convention in 2011, when he passed away shortly before the convention.

His Son Scott came in his Fathers stead and is currently working to fill Chip's shoes and keep Fiddlers Green going. We wish him all the best.

And as I said, "Chip Fyn Lives on Here at our Home!"
