without base, and with Motoko on top, the model is26cm wide, 33cm deep and 40 cm tall... I believe using a less thick paper for her would enable to build her down about 30 %, which was what I originally planned so the tank would be bigger and the whole would look more heroic, but then to build the face and fingers would be a mayor problem...I guess if anybody wants, they could scale up the tank.

Only missing now are the cables she is ripping out of the tank, and the base. Oh, and to finish the instructions too!

ok, got some explaining to do!...
The model is not based on any exact moment in the movie or manga, but rather is a mixture of both. The jumpsuit she is wearing is inspired in one of Shirow´s pin ups for the original manga covers, the overall situation (Motoko fighting a spider tank) is a mix from the final battle in the movie and one fight in the original manga ( pages 231-233 in the american dark horse edition) Her figure and face is more based on the manga than the movie or the SAC tv series.
The design for the tank is losely based on both those tanks, but I changed things a lot, including the number of legs. Also, in the movie the head was just a box, wich was very boring to design. Is nor really a fuchikoma, which are small armoured vehicles with AI, but a bigger Hunter-Killer tank that houses a ciberbrain made by the armour division of the DeCarabas Home Products Inc. company.
You will not find either the company or the precise model of spider tank in any of the GITS works (after all, I had to put a bit of my own in this)My apologies to the purists, but my reasons for doing so were:
1- there are some good models of the manga tachicomas and of the GITS SAC tv series already out there.
2- I wanted to make a creative homage to Shirows work and the whole Ghost in the Shell , and felt better not to depict faithfully a scene in any of the works(movie, manga, TV animation or 3d computer render) but rather to create something in the style of the GITS world.
3- all the tanks and tachicomas original designs have spheres as a main design shape in the joints and legs, and its very hard to translate them to paper and make it look good.
Here is a painting I did of the overall design, and the papercraft is based on it.
