Husarz (Polish heavy cavalry)
Ok, so for my first build thread, I choose:
(I hope me embedding these photos into the page is alright) It should be a pretty funny model, just check out the horse: So far I'm pretty happy with how that came out. I'm a bit worried too - the first sentence is "this model is very difficult" I've never done anything like this before, so bear with me. Last edited by Gharbad; 07-26-2007 at 07:48 PM. Wow! A very cool model! Not sure I would even attempt it! Good luck with it!

Thanks. I'm sure I'll need it as well.
There's one flaw already: my mom spilled wine on the coffee table where I had it set out. You can see the stain on the rear leg there, and there are spots on its rear end. That's actually been lying around for almost a year... I'm going to start work on it tomorrow. |

So I tried to finish up the legs. I got the rear legs on:
The legs themselves were pretty annoying to do, seeing as how they're curving in every direction. Then attaching them was just... ugh. The front ones were especially bad. I spent almost an hour just trying to figure out how to stick them on, then got the angle wrong. I'm hoping the rest of the model covers up my mistakes Last edited by Gharbad; 07-17-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

That's a challenge - remarkably few parts for such a complicated shape. You're making a good start tho
I shall watch with interest.

one tip i can provide, if you want to resist the model collapsing when handled, stuff the horse with Toilet Paper, it will give the model some heft, and it will stand up to to repeated handlings
I have done that with the animals and soldiers in my picasa album(link in my sig) Rick

Thanks Mark.
All those recent Saturn V pics have been making my horse look crappier and crappier :p So far it's pretty sturdy, but I'll keep it in mind as I move on. And your crazy polygonal animals/soldiers look very cool! They look like fun builds. How tall is that guy? |

Heh, where do you find the space for those?
I managed to finish the horse's body. It actually stands straight! I ran out of batteries though... so pics tomorrow. |
