Stuck with Thunderchild's SDF-1

I started this lovely thing, just to stop a while on pieces for the bow of the ship... How do you fold and fit pieces #7 on the main gun of the ship????

I can't seem to figure it out, even following the fold lines and refolding till the piece fell apart.

Anyone else do this model before???

I think I understand where the confusion is...
The finished shape resembles a long cube with 2 flaps on one side.

The flaps are the long sections above and below the center.
Do the valley fold where indicated in this image, and a mountain fold where the texture begins, so the inner and outer part of the flap is joined together. Do this for both flaps.

Basically the red arrows show what connects where.
Just give a shout if you still have probs...
