Kit for a Beginner

Hi all! I'm new to the ship building world and have a great interest in card models because of their uniqueness and my student budget. My main interest is in civil/commerical ships, so which card kit of a cargo/tanker vessel would you recommend for a beginner? All advice is greatly appreciated!

I suggest looking at Cannon Paper craft site the Printer people they have good beginner kits. Suggest the following one

The Papershipwright David Hathaway has ships, barges and harbour related models here:

If you're interested in pre-printed models for beginners, I'd suggest www.papermod.com + www.mdk-verlag.de ... but these have to be payed for.

Also look up rocketmantan in the community search. He has some ships that would probably fit the bill.
