Mcdonnell Douglas dc-x, help needed.
Hi all, I have just joined paper modelers website and am about to construct my first paper build. It is the experimental Mcdonnell Douglas DC-X, from the "Hudson" website. I thought this would be a good model to start with as it has a 3/10 difficulty level, and will not use up to much ink from my printer, which has almost ran out of some colors. I have already printed out the model, (so far so good!), but after looking for instructions on assembly I was unable to find any detail apart from some "still" photos on the "hudson" website. Is there anybody out there who can tell me where I can get assembly information on this model, or is there anyone who has contructed this kit who can offer some advice? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes got those pictures, but it is still not clear to a novice like me, how the parts assemble or how to form them.

I have cut out the parts of the first sheet now and looking at the pictures provided I have got a rough idea in my head, of how it should go together. I take it the long thin strips with the pointed ends are for joining the rocket body parts?

yes those are tabs, that allow flush joining of the pieces, if the tabs were attached to the body panels, one side would not be flush on each join
the alternating black and white pieces are the motor nozzles once you have the body panels assembled then the extra narrower body pieces cover the seams. |

Thanks. Concerning the motor nozzles, in the photos it looks as if they are folded over in have before being placed in the slots, is this correct? Are the slots cut with a knife before the nozzles are added?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am a complete novice, and thanks for help. |
