help with hobby knives

ever since I started paper modelling, I used a cutter and a pair of scissors to process the parts. I recently bought a hobby knife, and yeah, how do I use it properly? how to grip it properly?

I just hold it like I would hold a pencil or pen. Anything that I can't cut using holding it that way, probably would be best cut with a razor saw or dremil tool, not a hobby knife.

Lazy man's observations
- decide whether you want to cut inside, outside, or on the lines and be consistent (tip of the knife is fine enough to make the choice);
- cut gently, a sharp knife will go through card very easily and extra pressure will only snap off the tiny tip that makes craft knives so useful, slicing along on the line 2 or 3 times to cut thick card will give a better result than trying to rip through it in one pass;
- use the knife tip as if you are tracing the cut line with a pen or pencil;
- hold the knife at a steeper angle to follow tight curves, hold it at a lower angle for long, straight or sweeping cuts ...
