Captured Fokker E.III (210/16)
It is my intention to start with the captured Fokker E.III (210/16). I'll probably build at least one other variant. I really like this little mono plane.

Cool, beat me too it! Lots of cool stuff to chose from though! I will watch and learn, and pick up some good details. My first try at this model turned out alright, but that was a year a go, so if I watch your build may be I will be able to improve on mine.

That is the only surviving E-lll.
You could build it the way it looks today. German Fokker E III Monoplane, 1915. - Home - Science Museum |

Don't let me stop you from building this one guys. The more the merrier. There are only so many of them after all. As for building one as per the museum's - maybe when I have a few centuries experience.

I though I would start with the engine. The E.III primarily used the Oberursel .UI engine. Here is what it is supposed to look like and my build. I tried to give it a bit of age by applying a glaze that is a mix of Future an acrylic gray paint.

Which is the original engine??
The glaze makes a massive difference to the appearance of the engine...
