Jim--your atavar has given me a case of Pickup truck envy--a common southern affliction.

I think a card model of that sweet ride would be great---and the variations on it---wow!

I've always been partial to the 1937 Studebaker and the 1950 Chevy pick up trucks. I drove one of the latter for a summer working at a fishing lodge 100 miles north of Toronto in 1959.
Meanwhile, I have ordered the two Army Beavers (51-16752 and 51-16552), although I was hoping for 51-16266, the first L-20 to arrive in Korea for evaluation in December 1951. Anyway, the Beavers and Shooting Stars are nice models, John. Don |

You are very welcome Don............... but I'm just the delivery boy................-Jim, Rob, Guido, Rick are the ones who did most of the work on these.............of course we can not forget one of them has Michi's World Famous Emperor Penguins! I admit I had to do a red and white version.................. it's a sickness I know:p
Hopefully we will be getting a new round of models from Aaron and Bob................ allthough Rick Thomson is working on his favorite nemisis and is doing very nicely I might add. Rob has several models "in the works" but that has been back burnered until he finishes his carpenter/landscaper/painter/general handyman project. Guido is working on some civilian prop jobs.............a sorely un-modeled arena........... and we have some of our first works in the T-33, P-80 and Hunters we have to upgrade to out standards.......... So y'all stick around and keep watching the skies.......... john Last edited by John Bowden; 02-28-2008 at 07:35 AM. |

Alas John, your work is not done! The 28 Beavers and a handful of Shooting Stars are a good start, but let me remind you that we have 50 international versions of Rob's T-33 done and aching to be distributed, not to mention Guido's Fleet 80 and Gippsland Airvan and a few others already in the backlog. The www.dgapapermodels.com site is going to be a work in progress for a long time with new surprises showing up frequently. Don! Check out model file DHC2002 it is indeed YL-20A 51-6266. We already got you covered! |

Wow! Is that responsive! When I made my order, I got into the "new models" section and so missed that one. But I've got it, now, plus a couple of others. These Beavers are proliferating like rabbits! And a good thing, too.
Incidentally, a photo of 51-6266 appears on page 55 of my book, US Army Forces in the Korean War 1950-53. I've had many contacts with L-20s over the years, and our son, Don3, flew in a Beaver with canoes strapped to the struts for a Boy Scout fishing trip in Canada many years ago.
