Question about eBay seller

eBay seller yeung1668 from Hong Kong seems to have a ton of models for sale by digital download. He claims in each posting to have made the model himself and to own the rights to sell the item on eBay. Any thoughts on this? Something is rotten in the state of Hong Kong, methinks.

Everything I see is a printed model by various publishers. They were never offered in digital format and his claim to have licensing rights is highly specious. I would steer clear of him unless you wish to be a party to copyright violation. Just my two cents...

Well, they are nice models! I didn't notice anything that I have seen at other sites (like ecardmodels.com) so these do not jump out at me as pirated. However, hard to tell unless one has the model sheets. However, some others who build more often might have a better idea. I will say that I also, from time to time, sell my designs on eBay. So maybe this is just a designer who like large projects!

Yeah, printed, or in this case possible re-printed, is suspicuse if they are produced by other known publishers. Not saying he doesn't indeed own the copy right, but...

I saw a 1/33 scale PB4Y-2 Privateer being offered which I know is produced by a European company. Claiming to have reproduction rights does sound suspicious.

He claims to have "made" each of the models he has listed. Either he is a phenomenal builder or he is stealing photos. The wide variety of backgrounds against which his models are displayed would suggest the latter.

Well...one example, his F-117 model are GPM kit, look at the tail number "37 TFW" and the bomb bay door.... i just compare it with the google 'gpm f-117' pictures.

If you have an ebay account, go to the listing (or each listing) and click on "Report item" in the description area of the ebay item. Select the appropriate drop down boxes and submit the report.
Copyright and trademark
Bootleg records or unauthorized media
Unauthorized photocopies of printed materials

Fraudulent Listing Activities
You suspect a listing is fraudulent

Looks like ebay has had a word in his ear. Or he's watching the forum. All his listings have mysteriously vanished.
