Help!!! Been trying all weekend to download the Lun. Using both IE and Firefox. Have done a disk cleanup a couple of times, defragged, etc. Will get to 10 to 20 MB at best and stop. Have left it for up to an hour to see what it would do. IE just stays frozen, Firefox will go into default cancellation. Tried a couple of the other models and the same thing. Have downloaded other things over this time with no problems, of course smaller files.
Any suggestions?!? |

What Rick said...I downloaded all of them via Chrome with no problems apart from needing to be patient when the downloading of some of the larger files slowed down at times...
Have you been able to download any of them I.e maybe the smaller file sizes? If not then it is probably something in your set up...the download manager I use if Free Download Manager and it works well.....

Tried Chrome a couple of times with the same results. Its not that it slows down, it just completely freezes and then eventually dumps.
Never used a download manager, didn't even know what it was. Still not sure. Tried a freebie one and its going to take too much time to figure out right now. Trying to close on a house in Cal and getting ready to leave on a 2 week trip next Friday so don't want to throw anything else in the mix right now. Brain is about on meltdown anyway. |

Focus on the big stuff...the models will still be there when you get home...good luck with the house purchase...
Once you're back, we can 'talk' you through setting up something like Free Download Manager (Free Download Manager - absolutely free download accelerator and manager) which is the only one I am familiar with but which I have felt no need to change from in a decade or so...and then see if that makes a difference...

If you are using Windows as your OS, use the Opera browser (Opera, Portable Edition 12.17 (web browser) Released | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives) for downloading. It has a built in download manager and can resume an interrupted or paused download. Also try using a different ISP at a friends place, library or other public building, community college (some offer internet connections to visitors) , coffee shop or hotel lobby. Use this to see if there are any public wi fi hot spots near you: Free WiFi hotspots wi-fi cafes coffee shops hotels wireless airports (what is wifi). Don't forget to change your net work security settings or run your browser inside a sandbox you connect to public wi fi. Good luck. |
