Dam site from Niigata
Sorry, I could not help myself and had to upload one last dam site from Niigata:

Fabulous links. I know the feeling about overdosing. I managed to get some great airliner models from those pages. Many thanks
Interestingly, if you click on some of the train links and then click on some of the adverts on the side they take you to Amazon Japan which has some interesting range of paper model books. Looks like Japan is better supported with commercial paper model books

Well done, some great finds there, I like the radio telescopes and the snowploughs. I also like the dams but can't for the life of me find the download for the actual parts!
Thanks Julian |

Dam Models
Quote:
The PDF files are the instructions. The .xls files look like parts, but I have not tried printing them yet. This is the first time I have ever seen a spreadsheet file used to save a paper model. A long time ago I saw some simple Japanese models that were saved with doc. files. You need MS Excel or LibreOffice or ApacheOffice to open the xls files. |

That explains it - I would have never suspected the parts were in an excel file!!! Thanks

Japanese Freighters
From an archived site, several small scale but well detailed (lots of tiny parts) ship models. One of the models is of a freighter that was sunk during WW2. There are no instructions, you will have to figure out how they go together from the parts numbering sequence and the thumbnail pictures of the finished models. These look like nice models and a worthwhile build for someone interested in classic pre container era shipping.
https://web.archive.org/web/20100307...nksato/kit.htm (The 2008 to 2010 page saves have the models) If any of you find sites with good paper models please take the time to submit the URL of the main page and the URL of the models themselves to the "Wayback Machine". Otherwise great models like these and like Zio Prudenzio's for example could be lost forever when the original web site is no longer maintained. Paper models of Buildings and Native Costumes from 2005 and before
These are archived files of paper models of native costumes and buildings from around the world that were published before 2005. The web site was changed after 2006, so it is worthwhile exploring the web pages archived in 2005 and before. You will find a lot of old favorites here that are no longer available elsewhere.
