Does anyone know what the L-shaped black parts (Image 2, circled in red)for the Mercedes-Benz 508 D Transporter T2 are and where they go?

Maybe supports for the ladder at the rear of the vehicle?

Thanks, Willem. That may well be it. Unfortunately, I already mounted the ladder, but will keep that in mind if I try this one again - this one has a few rough edges.
