Komintern artillery tractor

Anyone remember the MBA Models 1/25 S-65 artillery tractor? - quite insane.

I hadn't realised MBA Models had followed the S-65 with a 1/25 Komintern artillery tractor - downloadable at: https://yadi.sk/d/R2R2laolto3ML.

It's the same deal as the S-65 - white model for personal use only.

For those who don't know what a Komintern tractor was.... In the 1930s the Red Army identified a requirement for tracked artillery tractors. The Komintern was a heavy tractor (11 tons) based on the unsuccessful T-12 medium tank. Unlike the tank it was reasonably successful and was built in some numbers from 1934 to 1941. It was used to tow the heavier Soviet guns such as the 203mm B-4 howitzer (Modelik) and 152mm D-20 howitzer (GPM). The name Komintern comes from the Soviet organisation charged with world wide export of communism - the name is a simple contraction of "Communist International".

Regards,

Charlie

Sigh - it's just a Yandex page. I guess everything in Russia makes paranoid US software act crazy these days. Try another browser.

Does putting the word "Smart" adjacent to "Microsoft" constitute an oxymoron?

The file's probably on depositfiles as well.

Regards,

Charlie

What an incredibly detailed model. Far beyond my feeble skills but - who knows - maybe some day...
Would love to see somebody build this though.
Thanks for the link Charlie.

Downloaded it in under a minute. Now since I've been working on his S-65 for about 8 or 9 months off and on, no idea when I'll get to it. But it looks great.

Have been photographing parts of the S-65 as I go along so when I get to a point were it looks like it may actually get finished will start a thread. Don't want it hanging in limbo like my long suffering Ursus tractor.

Downloaded it, 52 pages of incredible detail. Now I'm looking at each page and laughing at, or to, myself. Yeah righ, I'll build this one.
Great looking and very detailed kit though.

There are a couple of smaller, less detailed Kominterns available. Legitimate, free, Russian designed.

Textures are very nice. The models are the same, but scaled differently. In addition, unlike the complex 1:25 kit, your average paper modeler might actually build one.
