Oh, of course, I'd seen that Streetpaper model, but I did mine quite separately. In fact, if you have mine, you can compare it and see that despite mine being smaller, the detail is better - the crest on the side is more accurate, and the front has photo-realistic grille and lights. I did not copy any of the SP model - mine is a completely different construction method. If I ever do a repaint of someone else's model, (like the trams & narrow gauge trains), I do so with the author's permission and give full credit on the website.
The only thing wrong with mine is that the roof beacon ought to be raised up on a wire stand, but I leave that for the constructor to sort out. No reason why it can't be done.

As pointed out, there's no copying involved here - I mean, how many apparently similarly "painted" models of, say, a Lockheed Lightning are there?

O-scale version

As Don has said he'll build this at 1/50th scale, I thought I'd do a (US) O-scale version because not everyone can just print it out bigger "as is". This is split into three pages, making things easier. Anyone wanting it - email me ([email protected])
Any others of my vans could be given the same treatment. Just ask.

Graham

PS: I never know what scale the StreetPaper models are - is it about 1/43rd (British O-scale) or 1/45th (European O-scale)?
PPS - My models are all scaled to fit on A4 paper. Is that a problem for you over there printing onto US Letter? If so, I could do you another version if you tell me the size.

And a SWB version....

The Car's the Star again! A SWB Defender as seen in "Vera" (correct number plates too.)
Not done a test-build of this - Nick Dale's going to do one soon, but if anyone else wants a go, let me know!
Click on my web-page below for the address.

BTW - I'm offering these two Defenders free to Paper Modelers members for this month only. After that they'll go on the site at £1 each.

Bonnet difficulties

Fixing the bonnet on neatly is a bit tricky. It may be necessary to trim the tabs a bit as shown here.

Land Rover 110-bonnet-1.jpg

The spacers that are provided are supposed to pad it out to stop it from collapsing when being fitted. Trim them as necessary.

Addendum

I have added a pair of axles to the Land Rover models now, plus a diagram showing the fit of these and the floor.

Your models look like they are 1/87, is that right, Graham?
