Mystery solved

The tail marking for the "Hard Camo" aircraft is that of the 8th Yosu Hikōtai [Transport Squadron], which operated KI-21-IIs in the Philippines 1944-1945. Tail markings for the flights [chutai] within the squadron were painted in white, red, or yellow. Source: Model Art No 533, Camouflage and Markings of the IJA Bombers, Bunrindo 1972. Don
