Mystery solved

One of the members of the J-Aircraft Forum responded to my query. Login

The tail marking for the "Hard Camo" aircraft is that of the 8th Yosu Hikōtai [Transport Squadron], which operated KI-21-IIs in the Philippines 1944-1945.

Tail markings for the flights [chutai] within the squadron were painted in white, red, or yellow.
