This is the Diorama of Pompeii, a paper model originally posted here on the blog in 2013.

I remember at that time I was reading a lot about this Roman city (to help with school work

for my daughter Maiú) that was buried by the ashes of the volcano Vesuvius.

It remained hidden for 1600 years, until it was rediscovered by chance in 1748.

Ash and mud protected the buildings and objects from the effects of time, also shaping the bodies

of the victims, which made them to be found in the exact way they were hit by the eruption.





The entire model takes up just three sheets of paper and is easy and secure to download directly

from Google Drive. I believe this diorama will be useful for wargames and schoolwork. Have fun!
