Savoia S81 Bomber - Spanish Civil War

Not "new" to me, but I didn't remember to see it refered here.

A Savoia S81 bomber, as used in Spanish Civil War, in a contemporay papermodel, edited by RAPI, a german publisher.

Retallables tematics | Salaludica imagery since 1958

Click or Double click in the model image to open a a larger image in new page. Right click to open image in a new tab and then use the browser save page as function to save it. Do not use the right click, as at least for me it goes to save in .webp file type. It should go as a rapi.gif file.

It looks nice, and maybe a starting point to a civil version?

I think someone did build one of those long time ago. It was shrunk down considerably. Maybe 1:200 scale ?

That Savoia is one of the planes that has very little chance of being made in paper. Even in plastic it is rare bird to find.

Maybe I should build it? One page so why not. Anyone knows of a better resolution copy?

Murph's Models has one, and I think it even a free download, probably around 1/48.

It is a large file, almost 5mb, not sure original size or scale.

Cheers!

I've got the SM.79. Similar, but with retractable landing gear.

I might look into the SM.81 when I get around to WWII again.

Thanks for posting this vintage decoupage model Goncalo Mendes.

I remember Don's (rps) and Pablo's models. It would be good if Murph produced a version as well.

Hey Murph. I noticed that you updated the Burnelli UB-14 models.

I noticed the tail flash appears off. Should be a big X not a cross.
