LazyLife 1:50 Hornisse/Nashorn
Recent release of a 1:50 scale Nashorn.
The Nashorn had the very powerful 88mm KwK 43 anti-tank gun mounted in a hybrid Panzer III/IV chassis. Armour protection was fairly minimal but the long range of the gun meant the Hornisse (Hornet)/ Nashorn (Rhinoceros) could stay out of range of most tank guns. The name was changed by Hitler in 1944 - apparently he didn't like the insect names for armoured vehicles. 箱之工房 | ナースホルン I guess the model could be converted to a Hummel model with 15cm howitzer since it used the same chassis. Thanks for this info, Charlie.
It's outside my range of paper armor/mech interests, but looks like a superb model. Don |
