Looking for a generic (modern) fighter pilot in 1:48 or similar scale

Hello all!

Anyone know or have the link to a generic (modern but not country-specific) fighter pilot model around scale 1:48?
As long as there's not a lot of overly small or large parts I should be able to resize if needed.

I may also just design one myself if there's not much around to work with.

Do you mean like a cut out of one to be placed next to model or one to be placed inside cockpit in seating position?

Preferably the latter, but both would be excellent.

1/32 scale pilots are available from the Model Art site. These are downloads so should be scalable.

I looked into this and it might be easier (or harder) than I tough.

If you have Photoshop or similar program it's a matter of finding pictures you like, cropping everything outside of silhouette and scaling it down to your model scale.

Problem will be with resolution. Depending on what printer /paper you use that silhouette might not be recognizable enough. Rather than photo, using anime generic jet pilot picture might be far better idea (my brothers suggestion). Being a cartoon it might fit model much better.

You know I might actually try this?

Designed and built a rough concept of this in under 15 minutes.
Grabbed a photo of a fighter pilot suit on Google Images, traced in Inkscape and drew a cutout stand (with a very wide base, might I add).
Looks promising, but would probably be better with an improved stand or photo. I'll also experiment to see if I can whip up something in Blender for a 3d model.

Here's an F-15 pilot in 1:48 scale. He stands just over one and a half inches (about 4cm) at this scale (thumb for comparison).

Using max quality settings on my Epson EcoTank ET-2850 (which I recommend for this hobby since we tend to use a lot of ink...) with Neenah bright 65lb cover the image is actually pretty clear.
Not quite what you meant since it's an actual image instead of a silhouette but the image quality should carry over to the outline as well.

That is similar to the way I do figure flats. It's fairly easy to convert a back for the figure. There are a number of three dimensional figures available, too. More for WWII and Sci Fi, but repaints are fairly easy. Changing the NASA figure from an orange flight suit to another color is just a matter of changing the Hue in your favorite image management software.

The Rebel fighter and BSG pilots might make a fairly simple recolor

Repainting Tiricks' figurines

And Tirick's SW pilots are in the Downloads here. I have a bit of an emergency going on, so I can't look up the astronaut and WWII pilots right now

Thanks to Ninjatoes's Blog, I found out today that Stahlhart has released some pilots in 1/60, but includes 1/48 in the files.

As far as the astronaut that I mentioned, it can be found at Lower Hudson Valley, The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop - Download - Post Apollo
