Paper Paradise

I have built many of the MiG-15s that are on this site: Mike Hungerford: Paper Paradise Free Models

These planes fly well, are durable, easy to build, and are blunt enough to be relatively safe.

That MiG 15b is the first kit I made while stationed in Korea. You're right they are easy and pretty good looking.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing. I knew Mike had kept these little gems in circulation but hadn't seen them in a while.

Paper Paradise was my intro to paper modeling. I still have some of the original files that I downloaded back then, such as the flying jets and a couple of the software packages. Incidentally I just tried running the software to see the models in them and can't since its 16-bit software and I'm now on a 64-bit OS. I'll have to use another PC. Those flying models work great printed on copy paper. The cardstock I had on hand when I built those was 110lb card so it was too heavy. 65lb card might work though.

What ever happened to Paper Paradise - just went out of business? Was there ever any connection between Paper Paradise and Fiddler's Green, or were they always separate companies? In my mind it seemed that they were connected back in the mid-late 90's, but I could be mis-remembering.

If I remember correctly, Paper Paradise was the site that first made FG models available on the internet, until Chip got his site set up.

I don't remember who the owner was, but he and Chip were good buddies, and he helped Chip get FG.net up and running. (as told to me by Chip himself)

I know I first started out with FG by buying everything they had on Paper Paradise, plus the Paper Air Force program, then following a link on one of the model pages and finding Chip's site.

I also remember cutting up my dads empty manilla file folders so they'd run through his inkjet and printing onto those.

Nice, thanks for the info. I thought there was some correlation.

Paper Paradise was also the original place I found ModelArt kits - the 1/72 stuff like the Rufe and the Zero that I built 10 years ago.
