New Edition Micromodels
These are not free models, but this seemed like the best place in the forum for something I found on eBay. David Gilbert, owner of the Micromodels Archive, including the original printing plates used for Micromodels, has begun republishing them as the Micro New Models series. These are printed from the original plates, in full color, with a modified cover that makes it clear they are not original production Micromodels. I have purchased four of them - and other than the crisp white color of the cardstock, the modified covers, and the reasonable prices, they are very close analogues of the originals.
They can be seen and purchased on eBay now, from seller "autocraftmodels". (Mr Gilbert also owns a company of that name that makes small metal vehicles for train layouts). The models available at the moment are: Anne Hatheway's Cottage, Dr. Johnson's House, Cripplegate, Aldgate, Alder's Gate, Moorgate, Festival of Britain, Essex Windmill, Watermill, and Cambell's Bluebird racing boat. He wrote to me that he has several distribution outlets and plans to eventually issue most of the published Micromodels, plus some that were never issued. The email address is [email protected], for anyone who would like to learn more directly from the source.
