"Buffel"

I just got this handed to my by a teacher of the school I work for:

As you can see, it is in a very, very good condition, despite some yellowing due to its age (about 40 years). So this is my first real vintage model. I'm not even sure if there are any left in existence!

One thing I did hope for was that it could fit on my scanner...

Looks like a very fine vintage model of a very historic warship.

You have had very good fortune.

One thing though, there is no scale specified. Does anyone know the diameter of the turret so I can aproximate the scale? Rough guess would be 1/100-120.

Nice! I've visited the real ship a few times, but this model isn't available anymore (and the Maritime Museum shop in Rotterdam has a good selection of paper models).

Nope, it is way too big. But I think my brother in law (the one with the pc store) has a bigger scanner. It really would be a waste to cut up this vintage model.

You can always try a commercial shop. I have had some very large scans done at my local Staples. They had to send it out but it only took a few days.
