Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue

Hi all,

I was at my local Walmart this afternoon, picking up some polyester fill for my mom, and one of her many projects, and while I was walking through the craft section, I saw a new glue.

Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue

I bought the 4oz bottle, for $2.97.

I have been using it all evening on a model.
I like it, it does grab and set quickly, quicker than the Fast Grab Tacky Glue, also from Aleene's.

One thing that I have noticed, it tends to dry quickly on tools, so you will spend some time cleaning the tools, and you quickly end up with with a pile of glue snot balls.

I think this glue will replace my regular bottle of Original Tacky Glue.

Thanks for the heads up Rick. I need to pick up some more Aleene's glue...I'll try looking for this one to try it out next.

Bought some a week ago but am still on a bottle of Quick Dry glue. The Turbo Tacky sounds like a winner.

I too recently bought a bottle of this glue and it works great. I find that adding a drop of water from a 000 brush to a spot about 4mm in diameter gives it just enough flow to still work well without drying quiet as fast...
good stuff for tacking pieces onto a flat surface as opposed to placing into a slot or cavity.

Willygoat over at Fiddlersgreen put me onto this about a month ago it really has it's needs and places to be used. I bought a few other Aleene's glue. I gave up on Elmer's after several failures I went through and the tooth pick is the way to go.Sorry to get carried away on the subject but I really love this stuff. wc

I'll have to keep my eye open for this. I'm up for trying new things.

Dang, and I just purchased a bottle of Fast Grab Tacky Glue today at Hobby Lobby. I really like it as it grabs quick and drys enough to hold the parts within a few seconds and holds very strong (dried) in a minute.

I've been using the Turdo since last winter. I love that stuff. Like Rick said, it does dry quickly on tools, but it cleans up easily.

I have the standard Aleenes tacky glue and it works great, too. I also use CA a lot and mostly I use white wood glue. Got to check the hobby shop for this turbo version one of these days. Glue (especially CA) stuck on my tools is removed with my trusty dremel and its little grinding disc.
