I looked online at barnesandnoble.com and Amazon.com and "Paper Captain" is listed at $9.95 + shipping. Paper pilot is still hovering around $20. Amazon had a combo for all 3 (ship, plane and space) for $48.28

Just ordered Paper Captain from Amazon as a filler to get the free super saver shipping. Will report back with photos of the model quality. Looking forward to this, but I fear that I may soon be buying the other books in the series...

Amazon has it listed from other sellers. I found one in Very Good condition for $2.50 + $3.99 shipping. Not bad for 18 models.

Freshly Unpacked =]

Received my copy of Paper Captain today. Looks good. I didn't expect it to be so large.

The info in the main portion of the book looks very interesting. It starts off with a few basics about how ships work, then goes into details about the 20 ships highlighted in the book, a few pages each.

But enough about that, we want to hear about the models, right?

They look pretty good. Nothing overly complex, maybe one to a couple pages each, but the graphics are good, and the registration between print and die cut seems to be pretty accurate (we'll see how accurate when I start building). I'm excited to try some of these out.

And yes, Enterprise comes with her squadron:

:D

Thank you Cmags for the pictures! I was waiting for a preview of the templates, and I think I'm sold. I'll be purchasing my copy right now!

Only thing I'm worried about is it being folded in the mail :(

Mine showed up in a box, but I ordered straight from Amazon. Plus, I think you'd need more muscle than you build driving a mail truck to fold this book - it's a good inch thick. Maybe have a quick conversation with your mail carrier that you'll be receiving a package that can't be folded and ask him to not shove it in your mailbox, rather leave it on the porch or something.

I'm not sure if I'd be able to talk to my mail carrier, but if it came in a box (from seller Amazon) I'm satisfied with that.

Did it come with tracking information, and do you know where Amazon ships from? I'm leaving for a vacation this Friday and will be gone for the weekend. I wouldn't want the package to arrive on a day I'm not back.
