Ok, I'll follow there.
As a whole paper modeling is a very rewarding experience. On the knife skillset that will improve with use, ie. eye hand coordination and cutting/scoring pressure. One of my past careers was as a sign painter or rather sign "mechanic" as it was versed to me as an apprentice so many years ago. In cutting stencils, both paper and ulano film we used a number 16 blade in our xacto knives. That made cutting tight curves and swirls a snap in that the knife handle was held more pen or pencil like, to cut the center out from a zero or 'o' shape you simply twirled or pivoted the knife on the point while dragging the blade to make the cut. Oh, and there is less breakage of the cutting point using a 16 too. If the material thickness is an eighth of an inch or less, or I'm carving a shape don't normally use an 11 blade. Just a suggestion for blade options with a hope that it helps with furthering your model building and knife skillsets.
