Fine Scale Paper Modelers got my vote. Why not stress the ability to do fine scale models in paper as well? - L.

I voted Paper Modelling. I would have voted for Global or Worldwide if they had International instead but Paper Modelling is direct and all encompassing.

I'm in the Fine Scale Paper Modelers group as well. Personally, I like that best - of the current choices. I DON'T like the Global or World Wide choices getting so many votes as I just don't think either name has a decent "ring" to it and does not really accomplish much in the name. I'm not saying it should win, but Fine Scale does put a perspective on the hobby more than the geography.
I personally think there's still room for some better name options.

Ryan

Pm-sig

Just to clear it up, "Paper Modeling" is what "PM-SIG" intends... SIG is just the generic for "Special Interest Group", so , for example, the Air Racing Special Interest Group would be AR-SIG for short...

The more I look at the name the less I ilke the Global and WW as well.

I like Fine Scale over just paper modeling because it give a strong impression of quality where just paper modeling could leave an impression among the plastic community its about folding a paper plane....

Ryan - how about suggesting some names? I didnt see any from you before unless I just missed them. :P

Not so sure about 'Fine Scale Paper Modelers', there is already a fine scale modeling magazine and although I ''love'' paper modeling and we have some amazing designers, that produce some amazing models for us to build, I think we should be 'kept' apart from them.

Link to fine scale modeler FineScale Modeler: Essential magazine for scale model builders, model kit reviews, how-to scale modeling, and scale modeling products

I also like the idea of being international, I know most of the guys are from the US, but members are from all over the world.

Yep - I know fine scale modeler.

Its painfully obvious I wont be pleasing everyone.... starting to think that just should have picked one and stuck with it....

*edit* plus there is no clear winner.... I might just end up doing that

Fine Scale Paper Modelers was one of my first choices that Rick, Jason and I all discussed and we all approved of...

That will be the name of our SIG. Keep in mind its just the name of our SIG in IPMS and we want to hopefully attract some plastic folks to try our hobby so I hope implying that we are Fine Scale will help get them to take a second look. It WONT be the name of the newsletter
