FSPM Logo brainstorm....

OK! Its time for a logo dont ya think?

I have no preconcieved notions of a logo, I want it to be professional looking and not overly busy.

Lets see some suggestions!
Thanks
Chris

Crossed craft-knife and glue bottle inside the three-arrow paper recycling logo (green arrows). Possibly fill in the "points" of the arrow triangle with line drawings of three model types (vehicle, aero/astro, sci-fi? pick the three busiest section of this forum). You can put the name around in a conventional circle arrangement or below.

did I miss something?
what the heck happened to "World(wide) Paper Modelers"? (wpm)

"scale models" I understand, but what is a "fine scale"?

I can build a scale model, but it will be far from fine!
so, I guess that keeps me out of this group! lol

did I miss something?
was there an announcement about the name?, and I missed it?
I personally don't like "fine scale modelers" sounds a little pretentious to me.

regardless, heres a quick logo idea

I chose it because it implies quality.

There was no clear cut majority so I discussed the options with Rick and Jason and stated this as my preference and they liked it enough too. I wanted to get the name decided so we could get the SIG started and onto other matters. As Terry so aptly said I appear to be a benevolent dictator. I wont have a hand in naming other things like the newsletter etc - might give input or suggestions but I will leave that up to the groups that like to work on those areas. I dont pretend to have enough knowledge to piece something like that together.

Besides - I didnt care for Words Per Minute. :P

Thanks for the logo idea though.
Chris

I'm not a laywer but I am pretty versed in copyright and trademark rules.

my concern is Fine Scale Paper Modelers is too close to Fine Scale Modeler, the magazine and website.
FineScale Modeler: Essential magazine for scale model builders, model kit reviews, how-to scale modeling, and scale modeling products
conceivably there could be a model show where the Sig has a presence and Fine Scale Modeler also has a booth or display, the average modeler could reasonably be confused about a connection.

I would expect you to get a cease and desist letter from Fine Scale Modeler shortly after the name becomes common knowledge.

If I need to drop the Fine then thats fine. I will wait to see what Fine Scale Modeler magazine has to say about it. I dropped them a line.

But thank you for saying we might one day be common knowledge

sorry I started this debate here...it wasn't my intention to disrupt the flow Chris

but...
"scale paper modelers" does not sound too bad.
