1920th style autogyro

Dear all,

for several years I had been building paper models e.g German battleships
Scharnhorst and Deutschland, coastel steamer Praesident as well as several
aircraft but hadn't done much for quite some time. My main interest
currently is in programming a mathematical model for rotory wing aircraft,
mainly autogyros. Since it will be quite some time before I'll be able
to build one I had thought of building a model just for the fun of it and
decided to use the fuselage of a Pietenpol Aircamper as basis for a gyro
conversion. The model is in 1:48th scale and surely not the greatest but
an experienced builder might well be able to turn this into an acceptable
model of a kind of aircraft you don't see that many kits of. There is a
small description with the model and the whole thing is available here:

Pietenpol.zip - DivShare

Note that I made all struts from wire, you might want to cover them as
one way of improving on the model and you will also have to add a few
bits here and there.

The fuselage and colours are by the way based on Alan James' Pietenpol
registred G-BUCO, to me one of the most shapely of them all.

I hope that some of you have a little fun with it. I will probably not
be able to contribute much to the forum but would like to tell you that
I will definitely have a look now and then at the marvelous workmanship
and the great models exhibited here.

Happy modeling!

Cheers,

Juergen

FREE model

Hi Rich and whulsey,

thank you for the nice words. Several people have had a look at the download page but so far nobody seems to have pressed the download button (or is there a flaw in the sites counting?) so I want to point out that you can get this model free of charge at the above site (I'd have to spend quite some more effort on it before I'd consider it worthy to be sold for money...;-)
Cheers,

Juergen
