I have that Hiei model, Foute man. :-)
And not a stupid remark/contribution at all. Thanks for any help.
I have now acquired 2 1:1250 plastic Wiking USS Augusta heavy cruisers, to go with my other plastic Wikings: 2 ... 3? ... Brooklyns, 2 North Carolinas, 1 or 2 Omahas, and 3? Atlantas, plus 3 or 4 Somers destroyer leaders and 8 4-stackers. Plus, of course, I have the 1:1200 Miniships/ESCI/Revell Yorktown class carriers (including Hornet with its cute little B-25s). I should build my cardstock South Dakota and Wichita at 1200. For whatever reason, Wiking did no 1:1250 Japanese ships. So I MUST finish the Kongos. I wouldn't think it would be too tough to do 8 of my Shiratsuyus/Shigures, and my Jintsu can be down-sized as well. And then we have Etusan for the Atago? heavy cruisers. I am 74 and have (had?) cellulitis on my lower right leg - my doctor seems to think we have stopped it, but I'm not so sure - which may be a result of COVID I think I had a year ago early February 2020, and I must keep my leg as horizontal as possible, so sitting at the table to resume the work is not good. |

1:1200 Kirishima fast battleship and Shiratsuyu/Shigure destroyer
... and Mogami and Tone class designs both near completion ... as is another, USN ship or two.
Little Shiratsuyu is on the center right - Kirishima is next to and above it - and can anyone identify the 2 unfinished hulls (of the same ship) at the bottom right? (A lot of parallax/distortion of the photo here, especially of Norfolk/Dorsetshire on the left.) |

Don Boose wins the prize! as usual. :-)
Just WOW, Don. Absolutely right - both at 1:1200 and 1:1800.
And like I'm doing both the Mogami and Tone classes I'm doing both Wichita and the San Francisco/Tuscaloosa classes. W and SF were part of our Allied cruiser covering force that was recalled when Tirpitz & Co. put to sea ... the recalling resulting in ordered dispersal and massacre of Convoy PQ 17 ... which I'm sure you probably know too. |

Oooh, those other cruisers are going to be very welcome. My build of the Hiei is coming along and will be looking for more friends and foes.
