EMD GP38 - coloring?!
Zeist Bouwplaten / Paper Trade designer Cor van Haasteren and I have had some well earned rest after the DC4 / C54 'Skymaster'. We are now starting a new project: the engine that succeeded / replaced the F7. When we mentioned this plan in the F7 thread we were sent a large amount of very good drawings, so no problem there. Cor will also be off on a flying start: the trucks are the same as those on the F7!
One serious question remains: there so many different liveries / colourings! So I am asking you for your preferences. Answer this thread with a maximum of 3 options, attaching pictures showing front and side of each of your choices. In about a month's timeI will then find the top 3 or 4, and announce a second round here. Hoping for lots of reactions, Diderick A. den Bakker, the Netherlands

Only three, you say... That's definitely tough. However, here are my three nominations:
#1: B&O 3802 in Chessie System paint. This locomotive was chosen by Trains Magazine (one of the major rail enthusiast publications in the US, for those unfamiliar with it) as the "All American Diesel Locomotive" back in 1982, and has been preserved at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore (who might be a potential wholesale customer for models to sell in their gift shop). Hi Diderick,
I would really like the green and black Burlington Northern, the grey Family Lines and for the fan of eastern roads the Lehigh Valley version, grey, blue and yellow. It's really a dream come true - a second Generation diesel in paper. WAHNSINN! Peter |

Chessie, and Lehigh Valley were on my list, but I see thry've already been suggested.
So mine are Chicago and North Western, New York Central, and Erie Lackawanna.

I'm personally a fan of the simplicity on AGR's GP38 3814.
AGR is one of our local railroads and one of my favorites.

I have a feeling that Conrail, Chessie system and BN would look elegant on this model.

Pan Am GP-38
How about this one. Pan Am is a local railway in my area.
