WHV, McDonnell F-101A Voodoo, scaled up (1/50 --> 1/33)

Today I wanna present you the McDonnell F-101A Voodoo. Originally, the model is published by Wilhelmshavener in 1/50 scale. Due to my mostpreferred scale of 1/33, I scaled it up. The size of the completed model is (length x wingspan) 66 x 38cm (26 x 15").

A full building report can be found at Kartonbau.de - I built the model more than one year ago and won't repeat an old build here. This was before I started coloring the edges therefore some white spots may be found.

Some minor problems did appear during the build: The rear part of the model has a little fissure and the connection wings/ fuselage could have been built a little bit cleanlier.

Looks good - thanks for sharing.
Did you scan this model to upscale it, or is it one you can buy digitally from WHV?

I did scan it - if I want to increase the size I usually scan with 400 dpi to keep the resolution acceptable. The model was printed using a HP 5150 ink jet printer, the paper is 160g/ mē paper of medium quality (no special ink jet paper).

Some WHV models can be downloaded and some are available on CD. The model I scanned was off set printed, therefore the quality is very good. WHV offers now also the possibility to print the models in any scale desired by the customer (can be read only in the german order shop) - this option was not yet available when I purchased the kit.

Cheers, Ol' Rutz

Chris,

I just try to support the start of this board with some pictures of my models.
Since I don't want to flood the board there will be a maximum of one presentation per day. If it's too much just tell me ;-)

For tomorrow I've scheduled a special model.
