Queen's House, Greenwich.
Inigo Jones was the architect. It was designed to be a sort of pleasure palace for Anne of Denmsrk, wife of James I, but the poor lady died while work was in progress and she never got to enjoy it. Queen Henrietta Maria, Charles I's missus, certainly did though as she moved in when the house was finally finished around 1662. The house straddles a public thoroughfare, hence the collonades to the east and west.
The simple kit was given to me many years ago by the designer, one J.O'Keeffe, who was hoping to get some sort of feedback. I had a lot on my plate at the time and so it was placed on top of the to-do pile. And, as seems to be the way with these things, it slowly but surely migrated to the bottom of said pile. If you're reading this Mr. O'Keeffe, I'm terribly sorry it took me so long. It went together as easy as pie. And no edge colouring to do. Right up my street. The minimalist artwork appeals to me as well. Couldn't tell you what the scale is, but it measures 35 x 21cm and is 8cm high. Thr real thing: Queen's House | Royal Museums Greenwich

That is a nice looking model of the building. I would like to be able to roam throughout one of those old manor houses. Looking at the exterior shots of the layout gets my curiosity up.

Hello there friends!
The other half and I did visit the house once when we were younger than we are now. As I remember, although the interior was suitably dramatic, there was very little in the way of furniture, furnishings, decoration present. Times seem to have changed. It's still free to get in though!
