1903 Mercedes 60HP (Micromodels, 1/50)

First of three from the MC1 set. This version was campaigned in the Gordon Bennet Cup series. The radiator was highlighted with metal foil and I used rub-down transfers for the numbering. I used rubber o-rings cut to length for the tyres.

My 1968 Karmann Ghia only has 60HP.

Yep, same for my first car, a '99 Corsa. It would still do nearly 100mph (don't ask me how I know that...). Early cars were lightly built and the engines had massive displacements which produced huge amounts of torque.
