Sant Vicenc de Rus Church, Castellar de N'Hug
Didn't want to build another Santa themed model as decoration for the festive season this year. Got more than enough of those already. So I went for this little church instead.
The original is situated beside the road leading from La Pobia de Lillet to Castellar, in the district of Castellar de N'Hug, Bergueda. The first church of Sant Vicnec de Rus was built around 950. A new church, making use of the old one, was consecrated in 1106 by the bishop of Urge, St Ot. The ravages of time gradually took their toll, and a restoration project was begun in 1982. The original idea was to adapt the church for other uses but after the discovery of some medieval murals when work began there was a change of plan. Instead it was decided to reproduce as far as possible the church to the state it was in when the murals were painted. The model represents the finished article. It's to 1/130 scale and was published by La Ciutat de Paper, Barcelona, 1989. Here are some nice pictures: Sant Vicenc de Rus - Castellar de n'Hug What else was I about to say? Oh yes. A Merry Christmas to one and all. Ho, ho, ho|
