Given the shortcomings of the kit, and the abundance of reference material on Pompeii houses, I wonder if designing a fresh model might be quite a viable project for someone here.

You have so many interesting models in your collection and it so much fun you building and presenting them. The house itself is a bit of puzzle - I tried to follow the floor plan and figure out what kind of an establishment it has been but got lost. The 'graffiti' on the front wall kinda suggest to some sort of business - tavern, grociries...
Good build so don't you worry. Nightmares are often followed by soothing serenity.

It was common for Roman town houses to let out the front rooms as street-facing businesses, and many of these are preserved in Pompeii and Herculaneum. The family then lived in the space behind with a small garden at the back. Generally windows were tiny as theft was a concern.

So that would turn the 'graffiti' into advertaising. Interesting, thanks Siwi!

When God was a boy?

Bending, smoothing, squeezing, stretching and cursing aplenty. Nightmare.

When God was a boy?

I feel older than that, these days!

But I never knew that God was a boy from a dutch Publisher...
