Cessna CR-3 Racing Aircraft (Fiddlers Green, 1/100)
Just completed...... a Fiddlers Green paper model of the Cessna CR-3, in my usual 1/100 scale.
This little aircraft was built to participate in the American air races of the 1930s. Over its 61day lifespan, it won every event it completed in, reaching speeds of almost 240mph. En route to an airshow in August 1933, the landing skid failed and the undercarriage failed to lock. The pilot, Johnny Livingston, bailed out and the aircraft crashed. |

Unusual wing placement - what do you even call that position? Having them in line with the horizontal stabs must have made for some lively handling...
