forgive me, I didn't want to say something and jinx this project...
(When I saw this project first posted, I swooned like a little schoolgirl who just got a a big poster of her favorite teen idol!)

You have no idea how important this movie is to me....
and to see this paper model is just thrilling me.

Anyway...I don't see the center landing support?
Is it there? or am I just missing something? maybe I am just blind...

I am slowly collecting 'retro rockets', so no Startrek and similar stuff. (For some pictures, see page >Aviation > Foto's on my website www.zeistbouwplaten.nl.) This lovely traditional flying saucer will be a nice addition.
By the way: suggestions of other models on the web are always welcome!

Just wondering what scale Gary is considering...I have the Polar Lights C-57D in 1/72 and it ain't small...the better part of a a 30" diameter which would most likely create some interesting paper engineering issues...I wonder if anyone will be downsizing Uhu02's Robby to go with the C-57D...an accompanying model of Anne Francis would be great as well but I'm not sure that paper could handle all the 'compound curves'...

Hello, I'm a long time lurker. The C-57 is one of my favorite designs, and the image in msg #13 by airdave is a Rhino3D render of my C-57D model. I designed it to be 3D As a reference, I used both the build drawings and Jon Rogers' detailed drawings in "The Saucer Fleet" by Jack Hagerty and Jon Rogers.

Here's are the resulting parts just held together (it's not paper, but it's not plastic, either - it's a special resin). I don't know how well a curved design like this would translate to paper. I would love to see a paper version.

Frank
